Daddy Daughter Dance!

Getting ready for the Daddy Daughter Dance is serious business for my little girl!  She is in Kindergarten this year, so it is her first Daddy Daughter Dance.  She was talking about it for weeks!  She would practice dancing in the livingroom and ask her Daddy if he wanted to practice with her.  Sometimes he would go in there and do something weird like the robot.  Hahaha it was too funny! (Maybe you had to be there...)

The day of the dance finally arrives and all she can think about is getting ready for the dance.  I kept her entertained until noon and finally let her start "getting ready".  The Dance was nit until 7:00pm so it was still way too early to really get ready.  I got some makeup out and let her put it on.  The only stipulation was that I was going to take pictures of her doing it.
See.....serious business
This mirror belonged to my husband's grandmother.

She did surprisingly well at keeping the lipstick on her lips.

When we got the information about the Daddy Daughter Dance, I thought about getting her a new dress.  Then I though "She has a ton of dresses that will be fine."  About a week before the dance my husband said, "We need to get her a new dress for the dance."  Wow, he is actually thinking about this seriously!  She is our only girl, so I was not sure how to expect him to react.  he is not usually much into that sort of things.  Men do strange and wonderful things for their little girls!

Grocery Shopping Can be Fun!

During Christmas break, I took my camera to the grocery store.  The kids we so cute!  They usually are not too excited to let me photograph them, but they were all for this.  I did let them choose things that I would normally have not gotten for them.....For instance, they each got to choose a box of cereal when usually we only get 1 box.  I don't like to have more than a couple of boxes at home at a time, but this was worth taking up a couple of more boxes worth of shelf space.

They almost always get to pick out a fruit for a snack though so that was nothing new.

We don't buy eggs at the store, but I had Avery check to see if they were cracked just because i wanted to take a picture of him.

Is Avery looking to see if that can is full of all natural ingredients?

We look at the fish almost every time we go to the store.

PLEASE! NO MORE PICTURES!

2013 Winter Mini Sessions

Winter in South East Michigan is unpredictable.  Some years we will have so much snow.  Other years we will have hardly any.  We had a lot of snow in the beginning of January, but by the 2nd week of January it was 50 degrees!  I was watching and watching the weather because I wanted to do snow mini sessions.  Because of the unpredictability of the weather I saw that is was supposed to snow and stay cold for a few days and offered short notice snow mini sessions.  As I am posting this we had a day over 50 degrees while it is predicted that the temperature will be in the teens again in 2 days.

I feel so grateful to be in an area that has four separate seasons like this and am exited for spring, summer, and fall mini sessions!
